KKD Sandwich Recipe Recommendations 001

For me, the ideal sandwich must have the perfect bread to condiment to meat and veggie stacking ratio. No sandwich is complete without including each of these items and the below recipe is one of many, that just gets it so right.
Steak and Caramelised Onion Sandwich
Ingredients
Butter 25g
Onion 1 large, halved and sliced
Worcestershire sauce a good splash
Thyme 1 tsp of leaves
Sirloin steaks 2, fat trimmed
Mayonnaise 1 tbsp
Dijon mustard 1 tbsp
Small ciabattas 2, halved and toasted
Rocket 2 handfuls
Directions
STEP 1
Melt the butter in a pan, then add the onions with a good pinch of salt. Cook for about 20-25 minutes until they’re completely soft and golden, and they fall apart when you squeeze them between your fingers. Add the Worcestershire sauce and thyme and cook for another 5 minutes.
STEP 2
Heat a frying pan until smoking hot. Oil the steaks, then season with sea salt and lots of black pepper. Sear for 2 minutes on each side, then rest under foil.
STEP 3
Mix the mayo and mustard and spread on the bottom half of the ciabatta. Top with the rocket, then slice the steak and add that. Spoon over the onions and add the other half of the ciabatta. Serve on a KKD eco-friendly Kraft Food Tray and you have yourself a pretty epic lunch meal.
