7 Things I Love About Zipper Bags

The uses for zipper bags are endless. Of course, it's the ideal packaging for storing snacks and sandwiches, kneading dough or freezing your leftovers. Zipper bags also protect your products from moisture, oxygen, dust, light and odours.
From an environmental perspective, Kate’s Kitchen Drawer Zipper Bags are reusable, 100% recyclable, are packaged in 100% recyclable packaging and locally produced.
Below are a few slightly more unusual uses for the ever so versatile zipper bag:
- Meat Marinating Bag
Mix the ingredients for your marinade together. Place your meat in a large zipper bag, pour the marinade over the top, squeeze carefully to release any air and zip closed. Leave for a few hours or overnight in the fridge. Magic.
- Your Very Own Homemade Ice Bag
Be it for injuries or cocktails, fill a zipper bag with water. Seal and place it in the freezer. When needed, retrieve the bag from the freezer and hold it under running hot water. This will cause the ice to crack. Bash the bag lightly with a rolling pin for a bit to finish the job.
- Bag Organiser
Going on a trip? Organise your travel bag, nappy bag and handbag with zipper bags. Be it, makeup, toiletries (that always leak), dirty nappies or snacks, pack these bad boys with. It's a game changer.
- Save on your Paint Time
So you’re doing that long awaited DIY painting project and you have to wrap up for the day, but still have more work to do tomorrow. Don't waste time washing your brush. Chuck it (with the paint) into a zipper bag and store it in the fridge. This way, the paint won't dry and you'll save time between uses.
- Game and Puzzle Storage
My kids love puzzles so we have lots. Great! But puzzle organisation can be tricky. Many a time there have been missing pieces when trying to assemble a puzzle, only to reappear hours later between couch cushions or under beds. Presenting zipper bags – the perfect way to keep all the pieces together without taking up too much space. The same goes for board game accessories. Store everything into a zipper bag for safe keeping.
- Tablet Protector
Protect your mobile or tablet while cooking from food and grease by putting it in a large zipper bag. Kate’s Kitchen Drawer does stock the right size (just saying). It's also great to do this with your phone when you are somewhere it might get wet, or sandy. Like the beach! Please note: This doesn’t make your electronic device waterproof, only a little water resistant.
- Organize Your Ornaments
Use zipper bags to sort your decorations and ornaments by theme or holiday. Label them and when it’s time to pull out the collection, it’s easy to find, unpack and it's all together.
Sweet and Spicy Regards,
Kate
